Produced in partnership with Wysing Arts Centre, Blockbooster will be taken onto the streets of Cambridge, inviting passers-by to record, share and distribute licence-free music with the aid of everyday tools.

HINGE-DIMENSION
An intelligent, interactive temporary maze has been created by Canadian based artists Karmen Franinovic and Alexander Wilson, in collaboration with essexdance. At the site of the installation in the centre of Cambridge, visitors will be forced to negotiate their way through the maze, as it tracks, reacts and restructures itself around to their progress.

(RE)COLLECTOR
A new piece by James Coupe will be created using CCTV footage gathered throughout Cambridge during the Festival. Created in partnership with The Junction, (re)collector will take CCTV footage from cameras around Cambridge and, using custom-built intelligent software, rearrange the film into a series of daily storyline narratives. Turning standard surveillance imagery into generic movie moments, Coupe’s work prompts major questions about film, fact and fiction – and who is watching who and how in contemporary society.

Other commission include Steve Symons’ interactive sound walk around Cambridge which overlays digital information onto real space, Active Ingredients’ ‘Ere Be Dragons game, Duncan Speakman’s Sounds From Above The Ground and townley & bradby’s driftmap.

A full programme listing can be found at www.enternet.org.uk

Digit Staff

>> Link to original site

Enter_Unknown Territories festival kicks off Monday 23 Apr 2007 – 09:41 A new UK festival of technology, digital and new media art is kicking off this week in and around Cambridge.
